zetec is ford's version of vtec. The vtec opens the valves further open at a certain rpm normally about 5000rpm , or when the engine is under load. The cam has lopes on it just for the vtec ,they have more lift which opens the valves further open. Also we do hate 4 stroke scooters but i was suggesting maybe vtec would make them a little faster.

it is variable valve timing and electronic lift control.
thats what the letters in vtec mean.
