Has anyone successfully put larger tires on an 06 VIno?
Did your top speed go up accordingly?
My theory is this.
With my standard 90/90 10 tires I get approx 62.5kmh.
90 = width in mm
90 = sidewall height as % of width
10 = rim diameter
therefore
90 x .9 = 81mm = Thickness of tire.
x 2 to allow for top and bottom of tire = 162mm
+ 10inches or 250mm rim diamtre
= total rim and tire diametre = 412mm
x pie = tire circumference = 1293mm
so in theory up sizing to a 110/90 10
110 x .9 = 99mm
x2 = 198
+ 250 mm
= total rim an d tire diametre = 448mm
x pie = tire circumference = 1406mm
inconclusion
1293 / 1406 = 1.08 or an 8% increase in rolling diameter.
therefore same revs, same bike, same rider should give an 8% increase in top speed (disregarding change acceration) which will bring me up to 67.5 km/h
is this a sound theory?
