I've been in the process of sanding all of my 2001 vino body panels. However I cant figure out how to get one piece off of the bike. It is a small part of the front tire fender. It appears to be slid onto the steering column before the front fork is installed.
I need help on getting the fork off so I can remove this final piece.
I can post a pic later today.
Thanks
Lennox

You need a "spanner" wrench!! That is the only CORRECT way to remove the fork. See the big nut with little "notches" in it? That is a spanner nut. The wrench fits into those notches........

Huh
I guess I'll be hitting up the hardware store again.
Is this "Spanner Wrench" speacialized? Can it be used for other applications?
THANKS

there are certain plumbing applications where you would need one, some other "industrial" fittings use them also......... If you have never needed one till now, then this may be your ONLY use!
Try using a hammer, and a screw driver....sometimes you can tap the nitches to break it loose..... it is worth a try! ;)

here is a fixed "spanner" wrench. They also make adjustable ones.......

alot of times it is two spanner nuts atop each other........ without seeing it, I would say yes......

Well It was a large nut with the spanner above it.
I acttually tightened the regular nut and it then made the spanner loose enough to twist by hand.
I think it's hard to belive the trouble this was just to remove one small body panel. Every other body piece on the Vino comes off by it's self almost.
It's nice that I now know what to do to remove the fork, etc.....
I just wish I could focus 100% on my scoot.
Gonna have all those parts sanded but gotta go to Alaska first.
I just heard that Jered is probably shoveling snow right now.
I'll help next weekend
Merry Christmas to all
