In a four wheel car you can lean on the e brake and let the clutch out to see if the clutch is starting to slip and needs replacing.

Can you do this with the Zuma?

Lean on the gas and hold the left brake?

If so...and you get no reaction from the rear wheel...is that a cue to order a new clutch?

I replaced the belt, which got rid of the stutter and grab problem, but I still feel like I'm driving through jello.

why not just pull the bell and measure the clutch pads?

mostly likely your clutch springs are tired. that or the bell is glazed is the only way it would really slip.

Ah...back in the guts.

Oh well, was going to change the crank oil, clean the air filter and change the plug anyway.

If this keeps up I'm going to be able to open up the trans cover blindfolded...I've been in there enough times this week.

Should I need a new clutch, think I should get a whole new assembly? Or just the spring and pad?

the stock clutch comes as a complete assembly. Order from Ronayers.com for quality factory, genuine yamaha parts. thats where I got mine.
