malossi tc cdi install

Hey jered or anyone else who knows why is that relay needed just for the kill switch?,or sumthing else?, also i noticed the ignition is only listed under the newer zuma on provo will the tc cdi also work on the older zuma 2001 and under?

the CDi should work for the older zuma's but I am unsure what the install instructions will be...

As the CDI units are completely different on the <02 models and the 02 and newer models...

I will check out www.malossi.com and see if there is a difference in the CDI's for the new and old zuma's...

Just and FYI... I tried a pre-02 model CDI on my scooter and it wouldn't start...

Also the reason the CDI requires a relay is that when it's installed without the relay wired as discribed in the how to... it will only start in the off (key) and with the kickstart (grip switch in off)... so with the relay installed it switches the circuit to work opposite and work with the key only in on and the grip switch in on... (you no longer can kill the scooter with the grip switch, you can kick start it with the grip switch in off or on...)...

hope that clears the issue of needing a relay...

The is also a coil that helps eliminate the rev limiter.. I know Malossi makes a rev limited version but I couldn't find the info on their site... so maybe it's a disconinued part or something?
