Stage 1, 2,3, or Race, will increase your speed. TSC is a good place to get parts. I get all my stuff through Jeff.

yes i know but i think that the bike has limitors because it seems to be trying to speed up but it cant.
how do i take them?

The most common is the the rev limiter on the ignition unit. It's a small black box with wires going into it that you can find under the seat. It's fixed to the bike with a rubber holder. Unplug or cut the red wire. The prebug is still pretty slow even without the rev limiter though....

After my first post, I was going to make another that said, look up a Post by Overkill, and look at his signature. But he beat me here. Do all that stuff and tune it, and you will go fast.

Are the newer zuma ignitions the same?

Hey Axton, from the different zumas that I have seen or worked on the ignitions have been the same. The two I own - an '01 and an '02 have had the same cdi unit with the rpm limiter which is disabled by breaking the red wire. I have heard that some don't have the red wire rpm limiter - they may be different depending what country they were intended for. The laws regarding restriction are many and varied and all ridiculous. But still - they are a pretty slow scooter even with limiter disabled. From my G-tech runs on a stock standard zuma, they pull about 1.8kw at the wheel but it's actually the transmission that really limits top speed. My zuma now does around 4.5kw at the wheel and after many hours tuning there isn't a great deal I can do to get more power apart from buying an expensive upper-level cylinder or going to the trouble of putting in a stroker crank. There are scooters with more potential. But still, I reckon it's pretty damn fast and all the more funny because it's such an old-skool design. I went on a 40km ride today with about 10 other scooters all 150cc and above and I kept with them pretty well. One guy on a modified 180cc Italjet Dragster couldn't stop talking about the fact that a once 50cc scooter stayed with him through down-hill twisties. Of course he left me for dead going back up the hill... hehe...

Is it rev limited do you think? I did try a malossi cdi unit on my bike. It felt like the bike started easier, revved smoother and gained a tiny bit of power. Dead easy to install too. I didn't end up keeping it because i'm building a programmable high-energy ignition.

Did you get the one that provo sells?

I'm in Australia so unfortunately I don't get anything from provo, but I thank them very much for hosting an invaluable forum. :)
It was the basic malossi cdi unit for the zuma - it also fits the Aerox.
