Does anyone have any ideas what that cable hooked to my carb is?
How do you get it off?
Me and my dad was thinking it had somthing to do with the oil. We have no idea how to get it off.
Any Ideas?

yep... the line in the 2nd pic that is hanging down is your oil feed line from the oil tank...
The small line that is running to the carb is your oil line from the pump to the carb... which is weird... cause it looks as though it's screwed into the carb...
Mine (zuma models) just press onto a nipple on the carb?!!?!?
So I have no idea how to get it off... does it have threads? and can you get a wrench on it? If so I'd guess just crank the tar out of it till it's seal is popped... but then again if it's brass like it looks... it's gonna be SOFT!

alright it has to do with the oil.
ya it looks like its screwed on but the brass part is round. so i dont think its screws.

the question then becomes...
What are you planning on doing?
70cc kit? new carb?
if so just cut it... if not then since I'm no there to do hands on... it's a little tough to tell you the solution....
There should be a nipple that the oil line will attach to with the new carb... correct...
If so, just cut it... as close to the carb as your able to so there is enough oil line to hook to the new carb...
or... Check out the oil pump and tank how to's... Then there will be no oil injection to worry about!
Several of us have done this mod....

I got the 70cc installed already and the new Malossi Variator. Just gotta install the new carb put everything back together and install the new pipe.
I was afraid that i would have to cut it but is the only option we have right now.

It turned out to be a nipple like you said but it sure didnt look like one. So the upgrade goes on.

Ya thx jered.
Did you ever get my message on the other site?
So the oil connection is on the other side compared to the stock carb I gotta buy more tube and a double nipple thing to connect the tubing.
hopefully i get it all done tonight and start putting my scooter back together.

I did get that message... however I only got on to see if there was any useful info on that site... and I never did find anything! although there had been several things that appeared to have been taken from here and posted there! Go figure!
You should remove the oil injection... it's much more reliable when pre-mixed! the oil injection is set up for a 50cc stock set up... not a 70cc with larger carb...
Think of it like adding 20cc and 5mm on the carb... but keeping the same amount of oil... Doens't sound right to me!

MEh im not really happy about pre mixing. I love being able to just pull up to the pump and fill up.
Whats your ratio for pre mixing?

if you always carry a small 4oz bottle of oil under your seat, add that to 1 gal of gas and viola you have a nice SAFE 32:1 mix. I actually run 40:1 wich is less oil, and have had ZERO problems....

Alright well today we could not get the scooter start. Finally at 10pm we took of the air filter and sprayed the carb with starter fluid. It kicked over finally. Took a few times to get it started but we finally got it to idle. I took it down the street a bit and it would be really sluggish then take off and go back to being sluggish. The air filter was not on so i will put it on tomorrow and see how it runs. Just feels really good to hear it start up.

Stupid automatic fuel shutoff valve gave us so much trouble. Today we figured out what it was and bypassed it. Gave it acouple kicks and it started right up.
Feels so good to figure out all the problems.

that's why I'm planning on a manual fuel valve...
what a pain for such a simple thing...
Sorry for your troubles... but glad you got it figured out!

Could you possibly maybe provide some more info on the Automatic Fuel Shut-off. Where is it? How do I bypass it?
Thanks.

It is downstream of the outlet line of your fuel tank ,should be mounted close to your carb. The outlet line of your fuel tank go's into 1 side of it ,and the fuel line that hooks to your carb comes out the other side of it. It also has a vaccum line that comes off it that hooks on your carb. The factory valve uses vaccum to control the fuel flow to your carb , a manual valve is a simple valve that you can shut on,and off by turning a handle on it with inlets and outlets the same size as your fuel lines. Basically its gets rid of the vaccum system, and makes it manual.

Sly...
on the zuma the valve is under the gas tank.. almost touching it...
what it does is turns the fuel supply off when the scooter is turned off..
how it works... when the cylinder is turned during the starting cranks... it creates a vaccum and opens the fuel valve...
The problems with these... If the vaccum isn't stong it will not open all the way. Or if the vaccum line is damaged or comes off...
The manual one, you turn a valve on or off... Not having to worry about it not opening!

Mine is located on the side right below the seat. It goes gas line then right under it there is another hose for the vacumm.

So we took the hole thing out. Got a piece of hanger, cut it to the length of the carb and fuel filter. Put it in and now the hanger is pushing the thing open so fuel is flowing.
