After all the reading about the dual headlight mod on the newer model zuma, I still haven't seen a diagram on the easier way with the two trimmed wire method. I piggy backed the colored wires two gether on the low beam side and the same with the ground wirres. the only light effect it had was low beam only working, no high beam side at all. please give me some help.

dual headlight mod HERE! (http://www.provoscooter.com/vbull/article.php?a=28)

there is a pic at the bottom of this...

It's really, REALLY simple to accomplish... 2 pieces of 8-10 inch wire and the time to do it... 15 minutes!?!? Give or take...

if it's not working on hi and low, then one of the wires isn't getting a good connection... recheck your wires... mine works fine with it as stated in the how to in the link above!

these tips worked perfectly. thanks for the help. 15 minutes and dual headlights glowed perfectly. another question would be can you recommend a 70 cc kit ( polini or ....) will i need a carb also. can i do this step only without the stage 1 upgrade. kind of a sleeper scooter without the loud muffler and different tires. what do you think....

you can but your not gonna get the power you could get with the exhaust...

The stock exhaust is fow being quiet... nothing more... the upgraded exhausts are designed to allow higher RPM's for the engine to stay in it's power band...

which the stok exhaust doesn't do....

INO not worth doing unless you do the exhaust also... as well as variator...

yea ditch that factory exhaust you will lose so much power, and makes it much harder to tune the scooter without sputtering ,and popping.

also seemed like my 70cc kit didnt have to work as hard to make power with the fatpipe compared to the stock.

also i know my leovince zx exhaust is quiet at idle ,and on the top end, just make's some noise not superloud when revving in the powerband also keep your airbox if you want to stay quiet.

I haven't had any problem running with the dual bulbs on at a time. I went to the extent of soldering the wires to ensure a good connection. I'm wanting to move the front turn signals down to the sides of the body near where the reflectors are (for legroom more than looks) I'm concerned though that they would be harder to see being closer to the headlights.
Anyway - I've got an idea that I wanted to toss out for other people to let me know if they saw a problem with it. They sell taillight converters for dual bulb taillights that cut the power to one bulb (left or right) when the turn signal is sent. They use them mostly on sportbikes.
Does anyone see a problem (legal or electrical) with doing this? Is there something that makes it a dumb idea? I know it would have to be able to handle the wattage (the bulbs are 35W right?). I think the worst case scenario with that should be that I would fry the converter. Would it be too hard on the headlight bulbs cycling on and off like that?
I don't know if this would make it go from both headlights on to the left headlight going out when the left blinker goes on, or the light and blinker going on and off together, but I think either would be very noticable and very cool. Thoughts? :)

I think it would be somewhat confusing for other drivers.... What about the signals that go in the bar ends?

I made a joke about flashing one headlight off and on for the blinker...

Problem with this is most states it's illegal to "FLASH" your headlights!

So yes, you probably would have a problem doing this...

As well.... I am installing lights onto the sides of my scooter... and I think rydah already did... so PM him and ask him for a pic...

or hopefully he'll see it here...

Yeah - the last thing I need to do is to confuse someone and have them run me over, or to get a ticket for illegal operation of a vehicle.

I actually just posted about this...

I ordered some from eBay as I asked and no one had any idea's where to get any...

I'll look it up again and see what I put in for a search... but it was something like "clear blinker" something but I can't remember.... I'll post by morning... As I can't look on eBay from work...

but anyway mine are carbon fiber covers with clear lenses and yellow bulbs... I'm going to mount them on the side panels where the "yamah" plastic plug was on the sides of the front fenders...

I hope to have it done in the next 2 days since I'm off...

I wonder about their visibility to oncoming vehicles when your headlights are on. I think I'd rather be farther from the headlights. I'd be interested in the bar-end blinkers - except I'd like to switch to bar-end mirrors.

I seen Some Round Lights Jered like the ones on your ZUMA. It's sort of like these new cars with the lights on the Rear view mirrors, When the turn signals are switched on.. blinkers

Hey i wonder what would be the limit when it comes to these lights. I have the number 10 fuse on the scoot 'I know this much to many and POOF there she Blows'

Good work.. Picture looks great the side lights really fills up those empty spaces..
