Most users online: 210???

Does this number count guests, out of curiosity, or only members? That number seems unusually high if it's members only. :confused:

There was a "guest" that had basically the same IP address (less a number or so) that was logged in around 200 times... king vino brought this up to the mods...

we think it's a Microsoft search bot that attaches to forums... It can be touchy sometimes and with security measures that are in place on this forum is sometimes goes crazy....

that's about the whole story.... king, I miss anything?

Bloody, MSNBot! That thing is such a bloody pain. I'm about to block all IP's in that range, but it would just appear with another range! You don't want to know how much bandwidth the bandwidth bombing took!

King... Was it an MSN search engine web crawler? I think they're called Spyders... used to build search engine databases.

Essentially that's what it is, but the issue is that the MSNBot embeds itself in to the index.php and config.php files on the server. The problem with this is that if will monitor the IP's of any member or guest that views the pages of this web site. In essence, this bot will allow MS to track anyone who views the site according to MS's own web developer's section of the MS web site. I feel members who visit this site are entitled to their right to privacy without Microsoft tracking their activity, and I also feel the MS has no right to embed it's own programming in to a privately owned and operated website.
