I have a couple of new questions..
1. does anybody know the stock weight of the rollers?
2. I just installed the 4.3 gr weights, it seems to reach maximum rpms around 30mph now. I do have the yellow springs but have not installed them into the clutch yet. would that make a difference?
I do know that I will put the yellows in but I need to figure out what weight of rollers to install to get back to 40 and possibly a little more..
any help would be great.. thanks

I am assuming you have a two-stroke Vino.
The stock weights in my 04 Vino were 5.4 grams.
You will be glad you put the springs in. Have you derestricted the old pipe, or put on a new one? You should have no problem passing 40 mph.

I am sorry i should have clarified it is the 06 4stroke..
I have put a leo vince scoot pipe and removed the annoying baffle. the pipe I ordered is for the metropolitan. the mounting bracket actually works perfect on the vino, however a custom header pipe was fabbed up utilizing the stock one for the part where it bolts to the engine(brain fart).
I also installed a k&n air filter(I had to make that too),then I took it to the dealers and the custom jetted the carb and shimmed out the needle.
It is quick but it stop at 37ish Rpm limit I guess. so I now trying to figure out what weights to install. I just installed the yellow springs today.. so we will see what difference that makes
And thanks for the reply it helped alot..

Do you have any pics? I would like to see how the exhaust fit and looks?

I really like that "pudgy" can. Good to know there are options if I ever get a 4t.

What was your top speed before htese mods?

40 is about what I get out of mu stock Vino 06 4stroke.
Did you try the exhaust and air filter only, without the changed rollers to see if you got any increase?

top speed was about 39 before any mods. exhaust ,air filter, and jetting was first. it just made getting to 37-39 much faster. I did get the yellow springs in which calmed down the 4.3 gram rollers a lot. now back to 38-39 top speed but I get there much faster than stock. so I am still searching on how to increase top speed, I just want it to reach about 45.

Looks like the exhaust and air filter are makeing the engiine breath better and maybe create a tinsey bit more power giving better accelaration, along with the rollers, but I really think the variator/CVT is limiting the top speed on these from all I can work out.
I mean at the end of the day, roller weights only change how the gearing works in relation to revs.(I'm no expert, please correct me if I'm wrong) It doesnt change the maximum gearing of the CVT, or give more revs over the redline at the top end.

that is about the conclusion I can reach as well, redline is redline. i just get there a lot sooner now. I will still play with some weights and I am thinking about a little larger diameter tire (that at least should change the gearing).

no, i think you're on to it, Mud...
he needs to mate the powerband of the pipe/carb/filter set-up to his tranny...
the "yellow springs" (plural), i'm assuming, have to relate to clutch springs -
-which determine "take-off". (at what specific RPM the clutch "grabs" or "engages")
the "torque spring" and the variator and it's respective "rollers" and the "weight of rollers" determine acceleration,
consistency of throttle response and (sometimes) top speed.
(read: simplified - other factors can also come into play - let's be specific w/ these for now.)
witchdr,
you've modded carb, exhaust and filter - your bike probably doesn't know what
to do w/ the new lungs.. do a search for "tranny tuning" and give her some legs to match...
good luck, man.

Does the Vino 06 have a rev limiter?
witchdr

as far as i know and the mechanics at the dealer they say that there is no rev limiter.
I have looked at the upgears, however its for the 05 and older.
i wonder if the 06 4t tranny is the same as the older 2t trannies?
btw. thanks for all the advice you guys.much help!
