Just wondering how safe I am leaving my scooter unchained but steering column locked when I run into the grocery store at night ? I not talking the big old planned hiest where three burly guys lift it into the back of a pick up - I'm talking about how easy/difficult is it for a guy to drag the scooter out of the parking lot into a secluded area fast enough so I wouldn't be able to catch him or the public wouldn't be looking at him kinda strange for pulling this scoot around that would actually only go in circles ? There was a guy eyeing my ride tonight when I came out of the SUPERVALU. Had that look in his eye like he wanted to steal it. Probably would look easier to him till he realized the column was locked. Whatchyall think ???

Depends on where you are. In your case you're in Vancouver which has no crime but many hot Asian chicks (ouch! I just got smacked by Elise again!!!) so you may be in decent shape. I think a lot has to do with the area. Here in the greater Washington DC-Baltimore area, I'd be tempted to chain my scooter when stopped at a traffic light while still sitting on it, but that's moot they crooks would still get my scooter. Uh oh, looks like Elise found the rolling pin, thought I hid it pretty good this time, outta here.
Coment from Elise: Aaron is jerk. I smack him good, mah!

I agree, Vancouver is pretty safe.
You just have to worry about the ya-hoo's who like to "sit" or "mess around" with it.
I've only had one scooter thief and that was in '92 on my Vespa!
(They couldn't figure out the steering lock)

could always get an alarm put on it... like the triton R4... mine you can press a botton on the key chain and it beeps once and if you go over and touch it and it will beep again then if you touch it again it goes off with very loud beeping noise and will not start... preety cool i think... love it...
