Hello Im new to owning a scooter and new to this forum. We bought a 1998 Honda Elite CH80 with only 300 miles, very nice. THe oil looked like it had been there since 1998 so I figured Id change it. No Manual with the scooter unfortunately.
Well I went to drain the oil from what I though was the drain plug on the bottom and a big spring and a steely cylinder fell out! Im quite sure I have them back in correctly but would like to make sure before running it again.
I put the steel cylinder back in first with the plastic cap in first (top) then put the spring in under it mating the end that matches the lip on the cylinder and pushed it all in and put the bolt back in.
My second concern is the cylinder had holes through it, assuming its for oil flow control of some sorts. Do these holes need to be pointing in any special direction? IE the top hole front to back and the bottom side to side (in ref with the scooter?)
Thanks for your help.
