If at all possible STAY OUT of the rain........ It SUX!!! It is also not as safe as dry roads.... although road rash might not hurt as bad when the roads are wet??

I rode in the rain once or twice, it isn't fun but it isn't as bad as a fast bike where each rain drop feels like a needle sticking you in the face.

The bike handles good, I had no problems.

Ive already crashed when it was raining. i wasnt going fast but my bike just sled forever. Hope you got a jacket on cause you are gonna get very wet. A full face helmet always helps cause they rain hurts my little baby face

How did you crash? Did you hit the front brake, and the wheel came out from under you?

well i was taking a turn on some new road which gets really slippery when its wet and it just came out from under me. I probley tapped the front back but it happened all so fast. I rolled out of it but my scooter slid forever.

I ran in the rain once- not too fun but handled well. Would have been nice to have a full face helmet....

The 1st 15 mintues and last 15 minutes of rain is the most dangerous- all the oil and gunk coats the road.

Oil and water don't mix....

So- the rain starts. That causes the oil to float on top of the water- causing the roadway to become slick. That rain blends with oil and rubber-dust deposits on the road surface to form a highly dangerous skid mixture. That mixture builds up at intersections, where cars stop and start frequently.

Now it is raining- washing away some of that oil and rubber-dust deposits which is good.

Now the rain is stopping- that same oil and rubber-dust deposits pools or puddles in low lying areas of the road. It is a "rule of thumb" that it take apporxamitally 15 minutes for enough rain to fall on most occasions for the oil start being washed away, hence the first 15 minutes is in most instances the most dangerous. Now the last 15 minutes in most occasions is when there is enough rain to cause the water to keep moving enough to carry the oil and rubber-dust deposits to the low lying areas of the road. This means that the oil and rubber-dust deposits are in a concentrated form- making it more slick than when it was raining but not as slick as it was when it first started raining due to some of the oil and rubber-dust deposits being washed away. Now if you have a severe storm then that might only be 1 minute, not 15 or if you have a light drizzle it might be 22 minutes. A rule of thumb, if you will, is 15 minutes.....
