Malossi Pallet Shipment 2010
Friday, March 19, 2010 3:50:55 PM America/Denver
Every now and again I like to post about large shipments we receive. Normally when we order from Malossi, the parts show up in 6 or 7 large boxes with all of the smaller part boxes inside. This time, because it was our largest order yet, the shipment showed up on a pallet. All Malossi items are now in stock. We also ordered many new parts so look for those on the site in the coming days.

Forum-Store Login Integration
Friday, March 12, 2010 12:47:25 AM America/Denver
The Provoscooter store and forum have been rather disjointed their entire life. We were recently able to upgrade the website to allow single sign on between the forum and store accounts. If you would like to link your two accounts, simply log into your store account, click on "my account", then select "forum integration" from the side menu. You will be prompted for your forum user name and password. After you save your credentials, your accounts are linked. After your account is linked, your store account will look something like the image below.

It appears that logging into the store logs you into both the store and the forum, but logging into the forum doesn't log you into the store. Logging out of the forum or store, however, will log you out of both. In the coming weeks the site will undergo a visual makeover to further integrate the site.
Happy Holidays
Thursday, December 17, 2009 12:35:30 PM America/Denver
Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to all you scooterist out there.
It has been another wonderful year for Provoscooter and we are sad to see 2009 come to an end. But we have many exciting things already in the works for 2010. The Provoscooter team is constantly working to improve, and bring you the parts that you want.
In recent weeks we have established relationships with several new suppliers. These suppliers will allow us to offer you parts from popular brands like Stage 6, STR8, and MotoForce, as well as Yasuni exhaust systems. For the most part these brands are hard to come by in the United States. We are going to change all that. We will be stocking many of these popular products and carrying them in our inventory.
Even though we are closed for the next two weeks for the holiday season, we will still be working. We take this time to plan for the new season. We will be making decisions on what new parts to add to our catalog and evaluating our operation to see how we can improve for next year to provide you with even more parts and better customer service.
We love to hear from our customers, so if you have any suggestions on ways we can improve or parts that you would like to see listed, please let us know. Thanks
The Provoscooter Team

Beware of Motorcycle Mechanics
Friday, October 9, 2009 2:10:32 PM America/Denver
You would not believe the amount of trouble we have with customers who have hired a motorcycle mechanic to install their parts. Of the number of customers who need to reorder a cylinder because of seizure, I believe a realistic estimate of the percentage that had a motorcycle mechanic do the installation is somewhere around 80%. I believe there are a few reasons for this:
1. Most motorcycle mechanics have very little experience with small engines. Two-stroke, small engine scooters require a good deal of specialized knowledge in order to get them tuned properly. None the of things one must know are especially difficult, just different than motorcycles.
2. Customers who don't know what they are doing typically know they don't know what they are doing and so read our how-tos and forum, and ask a lot of questions before they attempt an installation. Paranoia is a lot more useful than confidence when it comes to not blowing up a cylinder.
With that being said, not all motorcycle mechanics should be avoided. But, if you are going to have a motorcycle mechanic do an installation, I would check on his small engine experience before enlisting his help. It will save you a lot of time, money, and frustration. Don't say you haven't been warned ;)
Yamaha Tmax Paper Craft
Tuesday, October 6, 2009 12:03:28 PM America/Denver

So I was cruising the web earlier today, trying to find some info about the Vino 50 4t. Through my web surfing, jumping from page to page, I ended up on the Yamaha corporate website. Everything was in japanese, so i didn't know what I was doing or what I was clicking on. Finally I found a link to get me to the english version. Once there, I didn't find what I was looking for but I did find something else - Paper Craft.
Yamaha has this section dedicated to all these little paper projects that you can download. Its like legit origomi. I looked at their selection of projects and they had just about every motorsport vehicle they make represented. However, not much of a showing in the scooter world other than the Tmax. It looks pretty fun, I will probably give it a try if i ever get a free minute.
So for all those that are interested out there, I thought I would share the link so you could go download the files and build your own Yamaha Tmax.
For those that give is a whirl post up some pics in the forum.

Follow Provoscooter On Twitter
Friday, September 11, 2009 2:38:11 PM America/Denver
In a continual effort to keep in touch with our customers and fellow scooter enthusiasts, Provoscooter is now on Twitter. It's been a few months since we set up the account, but we now have someone to manage it for us. Twitter is a great way to get the latest info about what we are up to. When we get an inventory shipment in...we will tweet about it. When we add new parts to the shop...we will update you on twitter. When we make changes to the site/forum...we will send out a tweet to let the world know. And probably the most important, when we have a sale (or even a special twitter followers sale)...we will let you know via twitter.
Twitter is a great way for us to keep everyone up to date about what we are doing. This past year has seen a lot of changes at provoscooter. Posting updates on twitter will help you keep track of everything that is going on. So make sure you stay in the loop and follow us on twitter.

Wednesday, May 6, 2009 7:26:22 PM America/Denver
Rollers are one of the most important parts of tuning your scooter. With the right roller weights you can get the most out of your scooter. In the past the only option has been to purchase multple sets of expensive rollers to see which worked best. This kit contains six sets of six rollers and costs less than two sets of normal rollers. With this kit you can combine the different rollers to form a total of 11 unique weights. Do yourself a favor and make sure you have the propper tool to get your scooter dialed in.

There have been a number of requests for the service manuals that were once a main part of the Provoscooter homepage. They have since been moved to the Wiki. We haven't had time to organize the Wiki and start putting in our own content but i've posted some service manuals there for download. Feel free to create an atricle or write a definition if you like, but we'll provide more guidance on the Wiki in the future.
